Golf Member/Guest Tournaments Were Aces!
2021 MEN’S MEMBER/GUEST
TOURNAMENT
EVERYBODY WAS HOT, HOT,
HOT!
The men got onto the golf course
on Thursday, August 12. The weather
was sunny, sunny, sunny--but
also hot, hot, hot. How hot? How
do temps in the mid-90s sound?
In fact everything was hot,
including the pre-tournament
breakfast of a hot buffet (which
no doubt included eggs sunny-side
up). But NST Golf Pro Bob Guido
wasn’t concerned about the heat.
At the kick-off to the tournament
he observed, “It’s a warm day here
at the Towers, but cool drinks and
a good atmosphere should make
for a great day.”
And he was right. Plenty of
cold water was available to keep
the 100 players--25 groups of four
each—well hydrated. They teed off
at about 10:30 for the 18 holes of
play as Bob advised them to mark
two scores: net and gross. He also
reminded them that later in the
day there would be competitions
for “closest to the pin” as well as
a “long drive contest,” which was
categorized by age group.
Beyond the golf, though, there
was a lot more to look forward to.
At noon, a barbecue lunch was
served at Towers on the Green,
after which cocktails would be
available on the course. At 5:30
it was back to the Towers for dinner,
where raffles were drawn. The
raffles totaled over $5,000 in value
and included such coveted items
as professional golf clubs and bags.
At the dinner, Bob thanked
Angelo and his staff at Buffy’s for
the terrific spread, saying, “You
did a great job with the food
today.” He also called out Mary
A great way to spend a day!
Anne Langone who “helped us in
so many ways. Thank you, Mary
Anne.”
Bob summed it up, “This is one
great day of the year to show off
our golf course…breakfast, golf,
drinks and dinner…it can’t be
beat.” He noted that this year’s
event sold out quickly and more
new groups want to join in. “We’re
considering doing this event twice
a year,” he said.
That would certainly be welcome
news, regardless of the heat.

You think he’ll make the putt?
Uh oh, do you think they’re in trouble?
And they’re off!
“So, if we calculate the trajectory from here to the pin…”
