dining room designs were unveiled and set on easels outside the Towers. It wasn’t long before the main dining area in the rear was cordoned off, followed by the rest of the restaurant, and service was transferred to the catering hall of Towers on the Green. When the renovation is unveiled on September 1, residents will be amazed at the transformation, which is on par with a major resort hotel. Mosaic marble tile covers the columns; porcelain tile is inlaid on the floor entrance with hardwood flooring in the dining areas; stainless steel subway tiles adorn the walls behind the service counter; with new custom-built wainscoting around the dining room. There will be a new bar, stocked with top-shelf liquors, wine and beer, as well as a Barista specialty coffee station, serving everything from Chai Tea Lattes to specialty seasonal coffees. Fewer booths will be replaced, but the capacity will remain unchanged, resulting in wider aisles to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. A new easy-access storage area has also been included in the design for the aforementioned mobility aids. Television screens, displaying the day’s menu or select shows are also a part of the new design. And the bathrooms have been completely gutted and rebuilt with new plumbing, tiling and fixtures. STAGE III Towers on the Gren (to be continued) With the myriad holidays and special events constantly in need of the catering hall, how do Buffy, Spiros and Angelo plan its renovation? According to Angelo, unlike the restaurant, Towers on the Green need not be renovated all at once. Rather, the new proprietors will make changes piecemeal. The bathrooms, lighting, bar, floor, windows can be done at different stages. Angelo promises an amazing result, but as to details, he isn’t saying, If the renovation of Towers in any indication, it’s sure to be beautiful.
