The “Getting to Know You” brunch held by NST Women’s Club on August 11th at Towers on the Green was so well attended that an overflow of new members were set up in the Coleridge lounge. Carol Meyerson took over the last minute logistics. At the Green, more than 115 members were at tables with leaders to facilitate the getting to know you theme. A yellow rose was placed on each table to signify warmth and welcoming. It provided a great opportunity for new and current members to interact in an atmosphere of camaraderie. At least 15 members had such a good time that they plan to meet for lunch monthly. The Women’s club now has a roster of close to 250 members with more people signing up. The September event—a trip to the Nassau County Museum to see “The Moderns”—is sold out. The October event will be held on October 14, in the large card room downstairs at 7:30p.m., and will feature a speaker from Katz’s Women’s Center at LIJ.
