BY FELICE HANNAH, MEMBER NST BOARD OF DIRECTORS, POLITICAL ACTION CHAIRPERSON Melinda Katz, Queens Borough President visited North Shore Towers on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She and Deputy Borough President Melva Miller greeted residents as they walked around the coop for over an hour. The Honorable Katz took time to listen to the concerns of each person. Residents were ready and delighted to have the opportunity to share their concerns. Gloria Lewis an NST PAC member and advocate for improving library services was firm about requesting that Ms. Katz monitor how library monies are spent and to insure that the extended hours and days for libraries remain funded. Larry Leeds, a long-time advocate for positive change in the community, presented letters to Ms. Katz that he had written to elected officials over the years regarding the need for a left turn signal at the intersection of Little Neck Parkway and Grand Central Parkway service road.
