Pouran & Co. Welcomes You Back!
Safety and Service at Your Doorstep
BY JILL DAVIS
When New York City be-gan
Phase 2 at the end
of June, hair salons were
among the most awaited services to
reopen. After all, it had been over
three months since anyone had
been able to get a cut and color.
People had to wait a little longer for
a much-needed mani/pedi, which
were permitted when Phase 3 began
in early July.
With these openings came some
strict guidelines for businesses,
which include limiting the work-force
and client capacity in the
shop; requiring employees and
customers to wear face masks;
setting up stations so they are no
less than six-feet apart from one
another; and urging businesses to
require an appointment, among
other rules.
Pouran’s Salon, which is located
right here in the Arcade, has gone
to tremendous lengths not only to
abide by these requirements, but
exceed them. “It’s our #1 goal to
make our clients feel comfortable
and safe in the salon,” Pouran said.
“Most everyone will tell you, going
to a salon and being pampered is
one of the most relaxing things you
can do for yourself, and we want
everyone who comes to us to have
that same experience.”
Well, the experience isn’t exactly
the same. Heavy-duty plastic divid-ers
have been installed to ensure
separation between stations, and
each one is fully sanitized following
each client’s visit. You will also see
all personnel wearing appropriate
personal protection equipment
throughout your visit. The rules
for clients are clearly posted and
explain, “Our first priority is the
health of our employees and cli-ents.”
Walk-ins are not allowed;
everyone must call and make an
appointment.
Once inside, clients receive the
same level of care and caliber of
classy cuts that Pouran and her
staff have always been known
for. But don’t take my word for it.
Betty Emamian, one of Pouran’s
regular clients, went back to the
salon at the end of July and quickly
posted on Instagram, “From the
minute I walked into the shop my
temperature was taken and I was
asked to sanitize my hands! Pouran
follows Covid-19 State guidelines
to the maximum while making our
experience enjoyable! Her salon is
sanitized comparable to a hospital
unit!”
Long-time client Tara Gordon
agrees. She posted, “For anyone
having concerns about going to a
hair salon during this pandemic,
your fears will be met with relief
when you go to Pouran & Co....
even I had some anxiety about
going back…but Erin put my
concerns at ease explaining their
new process to help keep customers
safe…sitting with my hair in foil I
had no concerns about being at the
salon; it was an overall fantastic
experience.”
So when you’re ready for your
next “Me Day,” you can be at ease
going to Pouran’s. Call 718-423-
8800 to make an appointment.
Note: To further ensure everyone’s
comfort and safety, appointments
are limited, with only five clients in
the shop at one time during their
regular days (Tuesday – Saturday).
That’s far below the permissible
NYC and NYS limitations, which
is great—just be sure to make your
appointment well in advance!
