The workshop, called “On Taming: Cultivating the Wild,” will be held outdoors in the Museum parking lot from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The goal of the workshop is to implore the public to explore its relationship and history with plants. Afterward, the children will draw what they’ve seen or heard in response to the stories and paintings. The program will start at 10 a.m and the fee is museum admission plus $5 per family art Katz. After the lecture, there will be a public exhibition tour of the museum. The program is free with museum admission. First come, first seated. Layali El Andalous will be hosting an event with Moroccan music and dance for families. Dance instructor Zeina al Qamar will also be holding belly dancing lessons for the public. The event will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 11. On Friday, August 16, the Flushing Town Hall will be hosting a yoga session in the garden. A group of skilled yoga instructors and musicians will play in an outdoor performance blending classic yoga poses with song. Participants are encouraged to bring their yoga mats.
