Savid and his wife Linda have lived at NST for more than nine years. “North Shore Towers is a unique and special place to live,” he said. “It’s also a large enterprise requiring skilled financial and business management, as well as sensitivity to the needs of the residents.” Savid is prepared to approach his board position with just that – business savvy with an equal amount of empathy. Savid is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with 45 years of “extensive financial and business experience.” Most recently, before his retirement, he was vice president and director of domestic taxes at MasterCard Incorporated. During his time at the Towers, he has been a member of the Finance committee, the House and Grounds committee and the Country Club committee. “I have gained an in-depth understanding of many of the important issues facing the Board and the Towers,” he said. “This includes rising real estate taxes, increasing costs, buying and financing new generators and attracting new buyers.” Savid’s plans of “maximizing” the country club entail attracting targeted groups who could provide “new buyers and new members,” he said. “I believe that my background and experience and my involvement in committee work will enable me to make significant contributions to the decisionmaking process,” he said. “I look forward to working with the other Board members in seeking to maintain and improve the quality of life at the Towers.” THE COURIER/Photo by Maggie Hayes Bruce Savid New Board Member: BRUCE SAVID New Chair, Country Club committee
