However, if attendees were ready to move into a senior living facility, Susan Cohen was at the expo to speak about Brandywine Senior Living at The Savoy. At Brandywine, Cohen said, residents have nothing but opportunities to form new relationships. A unique addition to the expo was Dr. Perry Frankel, a cardiologist at St. Francis-LIJ Hospital, who brought his team to conduct carotid tests on attendees, as well as blood pressure screenings and other tests. Falling, Frankel said, is a big issue amongst the aging population, and his tests frequently show an inner ear imbalance as the cause of taking a tumble. “We’ve picked up total blockages in the carotid,” Frankel said. “The name of the game is to prevent people from going to the emergency room.” Additional speakers included Dr. Harvey Passes of Passes Dental; Dr. Mary Andrea of the Podiatry and Wound Care Hyperbaric Center; Carl Surface of Bussani Mobility; David Schwartz, CFP and Chairman and CEO of the FCE Group; Christine A.
