The Pulitzer Prizewinning author discussed his latest book, Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power. This talk was given live at the 92nd Street Y but the DVD was made interactive for the residents attending. Board member Fred Chernow introduced the program with a brief bio on Meacham and some details on Jefferson’s use of political influence in pursuing his goals as president and founding father. After viewing the DVD residents shared their reactions and responded to Chernow’s questions. Audience members shared their personal views, which made for lively discussion. Many saluted the Country Club’s choice of such a cerebral and stimulating program. Additional rebroadcasts of 92Y lectures are planned.
