JANUARY DOUBLE HEADER
WAS A HOME RUN
The Migdal Chapter members
who recently registered and
Zoomed with the January Double
Header Program were appreciative
in their positive feedback. The
movie, “The Rape of Europa,” hit
home once more as it did when it
first was released to the public. It
is a documentary cliffhanger with
a priceless theme.
The discussion about our January
book, “The Lake on Fire,” was
co-led by Arlene Augenbraun and
Bern Rosenthal. As usual, there
were questions and comments
enthusiastically exchanged by the
members attending the Zoom.
MARCH BOOK DISCUSSION ON
ZOOM: “UNDER THE NOODLE
STRING”
Save the Date: Wednesday,
March 24, 2 pm
We have planned an Author/
Book discussion for Wednesday,
March 24. If you recall in the Fall
2020, I interviewed Bern Rosenthal
who had just self-published her
memoir of her first 18 years of her
life. Her book, “Under the Noodle
String,” is the story of Bern growing
up in poverty during the depression.
She was determined to make
sensible choices for her future in
her desire to be independent,
despite the mores of society at that
time when most women did not
have careers. Stay Zooming with
Migdal to be invited to the March
Author/Book presentation by Bern
Rosenthal, a fellow Migdal Chapter
member.
It is always more meaningful
when the book is read in advance
of the discussion. You can purchase
the book at a reasonable cost on
Amazon or download the book
using the Kindle App. Barnes and
Noble also has the book for sale.
To attend, Migdal members
should register by March 1, 2021
with Judy Paris, our Zoom maven,
at judyparis@twc.com. Judy will
send you an invitation with the
Zoom link and instructions. If you
need further help, you can call her
at 718-819-8293. As you are aware,
you can Zoom on a computer, iPad,
smartphone (IPhone or Android)
as long as you have a personal
email.
Please note if you are not a member
of Hadassah, contact Marcia
Jacobson, Membership Chair, at
718-631-1067 to join.
FUTURE PROGRAMS
In a desire to keep Migdal’s
membership engaged in activities
during the limitations placed upon
us, Migdal’s Executive Board members
are exploring the possibility
of presenting a Hadassah/Migdal
Film Series. When we have more
information, we will update you at
a later date.
