MODERN COASTAL DESIGN

current furniture is an
alternative to replacing it.
In this room, the homeowners
stripped their old table and
refurbished it, giving it a lighter
look. Any type of woven or
rattan chair will complete
that coastal look.
The white cabinetry
in the kitchen gives the
space a clean, bright
and open feel.
We
tested over a
dozen pale grays
and came up with a
Wickham Gray that we
used in the kitchen,
dining and living
room.
Gray is
always a timeless
color and goes with
mostly any decorating
style. This particular
shade Wickham Gray by
Benjamin Moore is a
pale gray and ecofriendly.
A woven rug
with a flat weave
design gives a
textured look and
feel.
Plank
hardwood flooring
comes in an assortment
of sizes, such as this wideplank
style in a driftwood
tone. It gives the space that
beachy casual feel and is
just the right shade for
hiding sand.
Adding a few vintageinspired
decorative
accessories with a nautical vibe
to the space adds character. The
nautical-inspired light over the sink,
the rope/wood stools, and the aqua
accents near the sink are great
examples. They were subtle
and not too cheesy.
The woven
chairs and the
rustic wood on the
dining table really give
the space a coastal
look.
Lanterns are
always a great way
to add style. These
nautical-inspired
wooden lanterns were
perfect finds.
Plants such
as this palm can
bring a room to life
and bring a tropical
feel to the space.
