The Sunnyside Shines BID has put together its second annual Sunnyside Gift Guide, a fullcolor print guide featuring gift ideas at 21 local stores within the district. This year’s guide also includes nine coupons for specific deals at these stores, and was mailed out to all residents in the Sunnyside area. Sunnyside Shines is also using social media to generate excitement about shopping local and promote the gift guide. Shoppers who purchase items in the district are encouraged to post a photo on social media using the hashtag #Sunnyside- GiftGuide. “We know that Sunnysiders want to support their local businesses, and we hope this year’s gift guide inspires people to shop local for the holidays,” said Rachel Thieme, executive director of Sunnyside Shines. IDEAS TO SHOP The Sunnyside Gift Guide highlights unique gift items in the neighborhood at a variety of price points, ranging from jewelry to champagne to dog sweaters, and lots of items in between. A one-of-a-kind terrarium filled with succulents is featured from Sunnyside Florist for $75. Looking for the perfect gift for a baking enthusiast? Three weeks of cake decorating classes from the Sugar- Room are highlighted at $400. Got a foodie on your list?
