 Welcome to Pool Season 2019!
Alexa Capo, Assistant Manager Shaun McNally, Manager
the best of the best to become part of Elite’s team and
 Alexa was an obvious choice.
Fast forward to now: In the off season, Alexa is a student
at Iona College in New Rochelle, Class of 2021. She’s
majoring in criminal justice while she’s figuring out her
 options after she graduates.
In addition to our roster of lifeguards—the majority
of whom are also returnees—we’re pleased to have
Nick Santo back as Shaun and Alexa’s supervisor. Nick
ensures that everything from bagel brunches to pool
parties run smoothly (and he makes it all look so
easy!). Nick said, “We’re all excited to oversee Cryder
Point again this year and I know we have a top-notch
 team.”
With a great staff like this, we’re sure to have another
terrific season. So be sure to say hi to Shaun, Alexa, Nick
and the rest of the crew next time you’re at the pool. You’ll
 be greeted with a smile!

The Cryder Point pool opened for business on an unusually
beautiful day on May 25. Clear skies and plenty of
sun were made even better by the return of Elite to take
care of the facilities and, of course, our pool members.
Shaun McNally’s back and better than ever as our Pool
Manager. This is Shaun’s third year at Cryder, where a sort
of “mutual admiration society” has formed. Pool members
have consistently given Shaun major thumbs up for
his management skills and style. And Shaun--who could
probably work pretty much wherever he wants--says, “I
love coming back every summer. The people are great,
and everything here is just a step up.”
To give folks a refresher on what Shaun’s up to when
he’s not on our pool deck: Shaun’s a student at Queens
College, where he’s continuing his major in Phys Ed and
Health. He’ll graduate in 2021, after which he plans to go
for his master’s in special education. “I like the idea of
helping kids with special needs,” he said. We know from
experience that Shaun comes by his helping spirit naturally,
and he’s sure to be a great teacher one day.
Alexa Capo, a native of Whitestone, joins Shaun this
year as our new Assistant Manager. Although this is her
first season here at Cryder, she’s no newbie. This is her
fifth year with Elite, and for the past two years she was the
head lifeguard at the Towers at Water’s Edge, a ginormous
pool facility. “Being head lifeguard at Water’s Edge,” Alexa
said, “is like being a third manager. In addition to being
the head lifeguard, I did pool openings and closings and
 took care of staff schedules.”
Elite didn’t just pluck Alexa out of obscurity, by the way.
She was a member of St. Francis Prep’s swim team (and
captain in her senior year). Andrew Meditz, one of Elite’s
founders, is a swimming coach at St. Francis. He recruits
Cryder Point Community Affairs meetings will be on hiatus for the summer.
