Temple Hatikva celebrates 9th birthday

Friday, August 16 at
8 p.m. Guests are invited

The Jersey City group
started producing music in
1969, marking 2019 as their
50th anniversary performing
together. Kool & The
Gang has infl uenced four
generations of fans with

GRAMMY Awards, seven
American Music Awards, 25
Top 10 R&B hits, nine Top 10
Pop hits and 31 albums that
have earned gold or platinum

hold celebratory Shabbat Services
on Friday, August 23,
starting at 7:30 p.m.
The entire community is
invited to attend services and
join the congregation for this
auspicious occasion. Following
the service, attendees will
enjoy a special birthday party
Kiddush, complete with birthday
cake. If you haven’t been
with us in a while, this is your
perfect opportunity to come
back to Temple Hatikva.
Established by Rabbi Harry
Hertzberg in 2010, with the
purpose of reaching out to unaffi
liated and disenfranchised
Jews in the Pelham Parkway
and surrounding communities,
Temple Hatikva holds traditional,
yet modern services,
which are both meaningful
and understandable, even for
those with no synagogue background.

Kyle Cherry. “Every year
we achieve new heights, touch
more hearts, and prove anew
the undying spirit of the Jewish
people. What better cause
for celebration? This has been
a year brimming with the heraldry

greatness that awaits us just
beyond the birthday cake.”
Temple Hatikva also invites
everyone to attend its
upcoming free High Holy Day
services. Although the services
are free, it is very important
to make reservations,
so that suffi cient seating and
refreshments are prepared.

Rosh Hashana services
will take place on Monday and
Tuesday, September 31 and
October 1, starting at 10 a.m.

the services.
The Yom Kippur Kol Nidre
service will be held on Tuesday,
October 8, at 7:30 p.m. Services
will continue on WednesdayOctober
9 at 10 a.m., with
the morning Service, a Yizkor
Memorial Service at 12 noon,
and the Concluding Service at
6 p.m.

medals.

Indoor Nationals Championships
in Staten Island,
NY we earned 25 medals.
2019 USATF Outdoor
Championship in Durham,
NC, we earned 23
medals.
2019 International
Youth Championship in
Landover, Maryland, we
earned 31 medals and
broke two meet records.
2019 AAU Junior Olympics
in Greensboro NC, we
earned four (4) medals.
I’m so proud of our
athletes, staff, coaches,
parents and community.
