Assemblyman Michael Benedetto
joined us during our Tuesday, September
17 meeting. He spoke about
the committees he’s on as well as his
goals and accomplishments. He is
very much aware of overcrowding in
our schools, traffi c patterns and he
elaborated on solutions being worked
on and of those being considered.
Maryanne Joyce of Senator Alessandra
Biaggi’s offi ce spoke and left
several fl yers describing upcoming
events. A representative from Councilman
Mark Gjonaj was present and
she too described upcoming events
as well as leaving fl yers for distribution.
The NYC Fire Department delivered
smoke alarm batteries to Community
Board 10. If you need or wish
one, go to the offi ce of CB 10 at 3165 E.
Tremont Avenue. The offi ce is open
Monday through Friday, between 9
a.m. and 5 p.m. There are a limited
number of batteries which are available
on a fi rst come, fi rst serve basis.

40th Precinct
Sunday, September 29 at 4:15 a.m. - Two
adult males were entering a residential building located
in the vicinity of East 137th Street and Willis
Avenue when two unknown individuals approached
them from behind and began punching and kicking
them, causing a laceration to one of the victim’s
foreheads and then forcibly taking his wallet, which
contained $300. The suspect then fled in an unknown
location. EMS responded to the scene and
transported the victim to Lincoln Hospital, where he
was treated and released.
The first suspect is described as a 21-year old
Hispanic male with a light complexion, 5’10”, 170
pounds, a thin build, mustache, goatee and long hair
in a bun. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded
sweatshirt, grey sweatpants with black and white
sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a 21-year
old black male with a dark complexion, 5’6”, 150
pounds, a thin build, short dark hai, mustache and
a goatee. He was last seen wearing a grey hooded
sweatshirt, grey sweatpants with black and white
sneakers.
42nd Precinct
Monday, September 23 at 4 p.m. - A 23-yearold
male parked his e-bike near 1365 Boston Road
and checked his mailbox when an unidentified male
removed the bike and fled northbound on Boston
Road. The victim attempted to give chase but was
unsuccessful. The suspect subsequently left one of
his sneakers behind in the interim.
Saturday, September 28 at 12:17 a.m. - Police
responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 1700 Crotona
Avenue. Upon arrival and canvass of the area,
a 22-year-old male was discovered inside of Crotona
Park unconscious and unresponsive. The victim
sustained gunshot wounds to the head, back and
leg, and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital,
where he was pronounced deceased. There are no
arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
46th Precinct
Monday, September 2 at 4 a.m. - A 33-yearold
male victim was entering his residence in the vicinity
of Montgomery Avenue and West 175th Street
when the two males, believed to be connected to the
August 26 incident, approached him and displayed a
firearm. The victim was forced to remove his necklaces
and bracelet, before the males fled the location
in a BMW with approximately $29,000 worth of
jewelry. No injuries were reported as a result of this
incident.
Friday, October 4 at 12:30 p.m. - A 22-yearold
female was riding a northbound #4 train through
the 183rd Street subway station when an unidentified
male snatched the victim’s cell phone and fled
the station. The victim gave chase, catching the
male at which time a struggle ensued. The male relinquished
the phone and fled in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained pain and swelling to her
right ankle during the struggle.
Tuesday, October 8 at 8:40 a.m. - A tenyear
old was walking to school when he was approached
by an unidentified male in front of 190 W.
Tremont Avenue. The male engaged the child in a
conversation and proceeded to motion the child in
his white Scion vehicle but the child refused, before
the male fled in an unknown direction. The
child reported the incident when he arrived at
school. There were no injuries reported as a result
of the incident.
48th Precinct
Tuesday, September 10 at 8:53 p.m. - A
40-year-old victim at the 2 train East 180th Street
and Morris Park Avenue subway station received a
text message from her bank notifying her that she
had purchases totaling approximately $745 made
using her HSBC credit card. It was at this time that
the victim realized that she was not in possession
of her credit card. The suspect is described as an
adult female with long brown hair, and was last
seen inside a Foot Locker retail location at 1460
Broadway in Manhattan wearing all black clothing
and a black baseball cap with the NY Yankees logo
in pink.
50th Precinct
Monday, August 26 at 4 a.m. - A 30-year-old
male and a 29-year-old female entered their vehicle
in the vicinity of Broadway and Verveelen Place
when two unidentified males exited a separate vehicle
and displayed firearms. The males demanded
property, at which time, the victims complied and
relinquished $200 and jewelry. The males fled the
location in a burgundy Kia and headed southbound
on Broadway. No injuries were reported as a result
of this incident.
52nd Precinct
Wednesday, October 2 at 2:50 p.m. - An unidentified
male forcibly entered a parked commercial
vehicle on the corner of 207th Street and Bainbridge
Avenue. Once inside the vehicle, the male removed
$4,000 and a wallet before fleeing in an unknown
direction.
