Mrs. Jaiwantee Deokarran
From KLM colleagues-With a heavy heart I invite each and every-one of you’ll
to attend the month’s mind mass at 1245noon on 11/29/21 at Our Lady of the
Skies Chapel, T4 for the soul of our dearly beloved colleague Mrs. Jaiwantee
Deokarran who passed away on 10/29/21.
Jim Adelis is remembered this Holiday season by colleagues and Danny Carbonaro,
former PAPD Chief, close friend and co-founder of the DHL Trees for
Troops, Operation Holiday Cheer program. Jim is credited as the man behind
this program which began 18 years ago and was involved in other charitable initiatives.
Mary Durkin, 1948-2021
Vaughn College lost an important member of it’s community with the passing
of Mary Durkin, associate vice president of human resources on November
14. Mary joined Vaughn in 2013 and assisted across the institution in maintaining
equitable and modern human resource practices to serve all faculty and staff
members well, and she was a tremendous asset especially during the pandemic.
She is survived by a large and loving family including her brother, Gerry Durkin,
chief financial officer for Airways, LLC. Mary will be missed and leaves a wonderful
legacy at Vaughn College.
Retirements
Tom Fitzgerald of KLM will be retiring at the end of the year. As a CALMM
member, President Robert Kennedy shared his personal memories of working
with Tom at the last meeting. Many congratulated Tom for His impressive career.
Tom plans to stay active with CALMM and continue on as an advisor with Aviation
High School.
Gary Lupinacci is saying goodbye to JFK after over 30 years. He he also
worked in D.C. assisting the TSA in developing airport security programs. Gary
is one of the handful of gentlemen who have spent most of their career at Port airports.
He, as others, has hundreds of stories that should be turned into a series
of novels for the younger generation.
Richard Hernandez currently with Hermes Aviation and 25 year employee
at AmeriJet says it is time to hang it up. After years at JFK Air Cargo Assn., recognized
at the Danny Ferrante Golf Outing, and has great friends at JFK who will
miss his at campus events. His retirement plans include travelling with his wife,
coach a Special Olympics Basketball Team, and do some consulting.
Jim Sylvester of VRH has retired. Jim was an active member of the JFK
Chamber of Commerce and many community events always supportive of good
causes. He was a bridge between VRH and the many construction people, Aeroterm
and Port Authority people at Newark and JFK Airports pre-and during infrastructure
projects.
Andrew Halley was another pillar of the JFK community having been President
of KAAMCO, over 30 years as top management of Aer Lingus at JFK, and a
fighter for airlines rights. He plans to travel and enjoy the relaxation on his home
out East. His voice will be missed during the discussions at the airport meetings.
Don Wright has retired from ANA Airlines after decades of service. Don was
one of the foundations of the early organizations at JFK Airport having been a
twice-elected President of KAAMCO, and mentor, and past President of the JFK
Chamber of Commerce.

JC Nolan joins Worldwide Flight Services as VP of Security for the America’s.
Suzette Noble has joined its corporate executive team as Chief Operating
Officer of LaGuardia Gateway.
Brian Cooley for being promoted to General Manager/Sr Manager Cargo
JFK/PHL at American Airlines. In his spare time, Brian is Chairman of the KAACO
Cargo Committee at JFK.
Shawn Nardeo has been appointed Terminal Manager effective December
12, 2021 at Mobile Air Transport with added sales responsibilities. Shawn has the
proven ability to manage and build Mobile Air in our market with a great reputation
and a known presence within the JFK community.

he feels about the new Uber and Lyft rideshare areas are working out. With him are Roel
