November Community Events Updates
& Covid-19 Related Information
Happy Thanksgiving- This year Thanks giving will be very different. It is usually the U.S. Holiday most
widely celebrated by almost every race, religion, and culture. It is a time of family getting physically together
at a big table, sharing stories, seeing each other after long spells of time, perhaps having a small political
feud and watching football game or just spending time together. This year we will not have this luxury.
Instead, our thoughts and feelings will be shared through Zoom or Face Time. “The new normal. “ We at the
Airport Voice wish you and your family you a thankful Thanksgiving.

Important Updates
NYS Quarantine The Governor said that he
will increase the number of National Guard and
Police to enforce the new Covid-19 testing required
upon landing at NY airports.
Under the new mandate, travelers both domestically
and internationally on arrival will be required
to show proof of a negative Covid test taken
72 hours before arrival.
To opt out of the 14 days, , another negative test
is required 4 days after arrival.
This proof can be a document or electronic
proof. Having this proof will reduce the quarantine
time from 14 days to 3 days if the arriving passenger
also takes a test on the fourth dayof arrival
to confirm a negative result.
This applies to any non-contiguous state or
country. There are exceptions for essential workers.
There are Covid testing centers now operating
at JFK, LGA and Newark airports.
$50 fines are now in force at all Port Authority
transportation facilities for those not wearing
masks. Wearing masks, social distancing and
hand sanitizing are key ways to help control the
spread of the virus.
