United flies back at
JFK
There had been reports
from the media and “No
Comment” from United until
today, November 10, when
United Airlines revealed
it will again fly out of JFK.
United will offer 2 transcontinental
flights, LA, SF, a
day beginning February 1st.
United returns to Terminal 7
where it had been operating
before relocating to Newark.
British Airways has the lease
for T7 until it plans to move
to Terminal 8 to work more
closely with American Airlines
in about two years.
Kaamco Interline
The Interline agreement
is being reviewed for an increase
in rates and extension
of the contract. Due to
the big decline in passenger
travel and handled bags a
new agreement is underway
to mutually benefit both airlines
and the service provider.
Safety
NYS Department of health
has issued a mandate for passengers
arriving in NYS. The
standing 14 day quarantine
can be reduced to 3 days for
arriving passenger has proof
of a negative Covid test 72
hours prior to the flight. The
passenger also has to take a
test on the 4th day and t4est
negative for the 14 quarantine
time to be reduced.
Delta antimicrobial
lighting
The airline will install
Vyv antimicrobial LED lighting
above lavatory sinks and
countertops starting this
month. The UV-light disinfection
solutions have received
a lot of attention as airlines
contend with the pandemic,
light in the visible spectrum
also has antimicrobial properties.
JetBlue Covid
testing
Northwell Direct and Jet-
Blue, New York’s Hometown
Airline, (NASDAQ: JBLU)
today announced that they
are partnering to provide the
airline with a comprehensive
set of COVID-19 services and
programs to support its crew
members (employees) across
JetBlue’s operation and add a
clinical layer to the airline’s

Lufthansa preflight
testing
Lufthansa is to start trialing
rapid pre-flight corona virus
antigen tests in Germany
, which passengers will need
to pass in order to fly.
Only those testing negative
or able to provide evidence
of a negative test
within the previous 48 hours
will be allowed to board, the
airline said today. The carrier
will use the tests from
November 12 onwards to see
how the test procedure can
be included in the pre-flight
routine.
Virgin Atlantic
has announced
sudden cuts to its
November flights as
a result of the UK
Governments
A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson
said:
“As a direct result of new
restrictions and the expected
drop in customer demand, effective
from 8 November until
3 December 2020 we will
temporarily reduce our passenger
flying programme.”
KLM funding
The Dutch government on
recently put on hold its plan
to bail out KLM, the Dutch
arm of Air FranceAIRF.PAKLM,
after pilots rejected a
wage-freeze until 2025, Finance
Minister Wopke Hoekstra
said. KLM had been due
to receive a 3.4 billion euro
($4.0 billion) package, including
1 billion euros in direct
loans from the government to
help it cope with the damage
from the corona virus pandemic.
AA axes routes
AA will cut 100,000 routes
in December as part of its response
to the lack of passengers,
and need to control expenses.
Some airlines at
better capacity
Serbia, Turkish, Eqyptian,
Korean and KLM airlines
are experiencing better
passenger capacity that
many others. This is partially
due to these airlines
having no travel restriction
on arrivals to their hubs. and
the hubs being used as transit
for other destinations.
JetBlue London
bound
According to UK Aviation
News, JetBlue is to launch
flights to London Heathrow
(LHR/EGLL) in 2021 according
to multiple sources close
to airline.
