CONQUERING COVID
The Covid testing is currently
available to for travelers,
airport workers and the
community on a no-cost basis
with confidentiality and
results communicated to the
tested individual with a day
or two. The testis fast only requiring
confidential registration,
and few minutes of swabbing
with next day results.
This testing is part of the
Governor Cuomo’s program
to protect NYers from the
spread brought into the state
by domestic or international
travelers. Testing can identify
and quarantine, if necessary,
those testing positive.
According to Rick Cotton
the Port is providing a Covid
testing facility to mitigate
the spreading of this virus
as a new addition to the preventative
measures in place.
He reiterated the that daily
airport safety methods that
Port is using to prevent the
spread with required wearing
of masks, along with the
newly instituted $50 fine to be
levied against those who do
not wear them at the Port facilities.

In addition, the Port
and its business partners are
requiring social distancing,
while providing hand sanitizer,
touch less transactions
and extensive signage to keep
travelers aware of prevention
measures.“ We will do everything
we can to provide safety
and health to our community,
” he added.
Dr. Long said that this La-
Guardia Airport service is
another way to prevent the
spread of Covid-19 saying,“

to anyone getting off a
plane or in the community.”
He emphasized that the Mayor’s
idea of getting tested before
boarding any flight was a
good idea saying, “ We would
like to see this become a reality
to keep NY and the country
safe.“ He said that, “New
Yorkers can always count
on the Health Hospital Test
and Trace to provide testing
that is fast, easy and always
free.” The testing center is located
at Terminal B Parking
Garage, ground level found
soon after exiting the arrivals
area.
In addition to the Health
and Hospitals service to the
community, new private Covid
testa re appearing. It is
reported that Costco will be
selling a self administered
saliva based test with laboratory
results being conducted
by Enzo Biochem. Azova is the
provider of the test which will
retail from $129.99 and is not
currently covered by insurance.
