Aimed at Int’l arriving travelers
In an effort to control transmission
rates of COVID-19 within New
York, the New York State Department
of Health is expanding travel
advisory guidance to include international
travelers. The travel advisory
remains in effect for anyone
returning from travel to states and
countries that have a significant degree
of community-wide spread of
COVID-19.
On September 28, 2020, Executive
Order No. 205.1 was issued by
the Governor of the State of New
York modifying the previous Executive
Order 205 dated June 24,
2020. New York State Department
of Health is required to update
Travel Advisory and Interim Guidance
for Quarantine Restrictions
on Travelers Arriving in New York
State Following Out of State Travel
to include travelers from countries
designated Level 2 or Level 3 (moderate
or high risk, respectively) by
the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention.
Governor Cuomo has signed an
executive order for the NYS DOH to
alert all travelers from any Level 2
or Level 3 country of mandatory 14-
day quarantine requirements, and
to ensure that these travelers fill
out the DOH Traveler Form.
All airport workers and employers
are encouraged to review the
Interim Guidance, which contains
vital resources, including Travel
Advisory Exemptions for First Responders
and Essential Workers.
