Experience Renaissance Event Hall at upcoming showcase
Renaissance Event Hall in Long
BY SAMANTHA WANDERER
Island City will be holding a
Love Affair Showcase on Oct.
24 to reveal its updated venue
space after four years of
renovations.
Renaissance Event Hall
opened in 2001, and since then it has
been the recipient of multiple awards,
such as inclusion in wedding website The
Knot’s 2019 Hall of Fame.
The space holds events ranging from
wedding ceremonies and receptions
to fire department holiday parties to
film shoots. Past guests have included
rapper Remy Ma and Mayor Bill de
Blasio.
Teresa Lisson, co-owner of Renaissance
Event Hall, explained that being
located in Long Island City has attracted
a diverse range of guests and has
allowed the business to host a wide
array of events.
“Our neighborhood is so full of surprises
every day,” Lisson said.
Their October Love Affair event will
showcase the new features that the
event hall added during its renovations,
including added space that will
accommodate 450 cocktail guests or
350 seated guests.
Some other highlights of the improved
12,000-square-foot space are a
new garden, a bridal suite, an audio-visual
system and a full-service kitchen.
“Our kitchen is now double sized and
we can now serve faster, so the logistics
in the kitchen are much more comfortable,”
Lisson said.
Michelin star recipient and “Iron Chef”
winner Eduard Frauneder is now the
head chef of this new kitchen for deluxe
weddings. The Love Affair Showcase will
debut highlights of his menu.
The showcase will also feature live
musicians including The Harmonia
Chamber String Quartet and violinist
Arsen Ketikyan.
The event is targeted to wedding
couples and event planners, but all are
welcome to attend.
“Everybody who wants to have a very
classy and extraordinary special event
should come because we are going
to have so many nice vendors here,”
Lisson said.
The event is set for Thursday,
Oct. 24, from 6 to 9 p.m., and
tickets are $35. To register, visit
