Summertime is party time
way he found his love, Nessa,
born in Venezuela of German
parents.
B.J. and Bob Adler, his parents,
held a dinner party on their
apartment house's rooftop in the
Financial District. The views of
the sparkling skyscrapers competed
only with the beauty of the
young couple.
Next door, zooming 76 stories
high into the sky, is the unique,
stunning and extraordinary
Frank Gehry building, “The
New York.” Its undulating panels
of stainless steel clad structure
almost looks like it's blowing in
the wind. I must admit that I

found myself constantly
looking up at it from
Danny Adler (second from left) and his fiance Nessa with our family
my perch.
“The New York” has a rippling
design of curving walls and
windows seem to extend to the
end of the sky. It’s skinny and
stunning, adding a new perspective
to the city skyline, and even
changing color as the sun strikes
its skin.
Then, on Saturday night, it
was out to the Hamptons for a
poolside party. To my delight,
Brooklyn Borough President
Eric Adams, looking lean and
healthy, was there along with
my lawyers, Frank Seddio and
Frank Cassone. They’re also
powerhouses in Brooklyn and
beyond.
Frank Seddio brought along
his wife, Joyce Becker Seddio,
who works in the office of NYC
Jovan and his wife Sanam at their
garden party
Schools Chancellor Richard
Carranza. She’s working on an
exciting project to bring new
ideas to our city schools. Stay
tuned!

With long days and
warm weather, summer,
of course, invites
plenty of outdoor parties — and
did I indulge in them this past
week.
For many years, my brother’s
son and my nephew, Danny
Adler, has lived in Barcelona,
Spain. He fell in love with the
city and its people, and got a job
as a travel agent for a Barcelonabased
company.
As the owners moved on,
Danny began managing the
company. He thought of how
he could buy the company
but, being a foreigner,
problems
arose. But Danny
was determinedly
to have
his own company
and figured
it out.
Thus, born in
Barcelona, was
