 A grand old Flag Day Parade in Sunnyside 
 Continuing an annual tradition of celebrating  
 Old  Glory  in  Queens,  hundreds  
 marched in the Sunnyside Flag Day  
 Parade on June 9.  
 Sponsored  by  the  Kiwanis  Club  of  
 Glendale, the red, white and blue spectacle  
 took place along Greenpoint Avenue from  
 39th Avenue to the Veterans Memorial  
 Square at Sabba Park, located at the corner  
 of Queens Boulevard and 49th Street.  
 Th  e festivities concluded there with a  
 memorial service honoring those who  
 fought and died in defense of the country.  
 Flag Day is celebrated in the United  
 States on June 14; the holiday recognizes  
 the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as  
 our nation’s colors.

 Murray  Levy  proudly  marched  the  length  of  
 the parade.
