The suspect entered the location, produced a firearm, demanded money, received an unknown sum and fled on foot. Authorities described the suspect as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, 6’4” tall and 210 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS. 115TH PRECINCT East Elmhurst, North Corona and Jackson Heights Suspect wanted in apparent hate crime assault Police are looking for a suspect who assaulted a woman in Jackson Heights in an apparent anti-gay hate crime. On Sunday, March 17 at about 4:15 a.m., the suspect approached the 49-yearold victim on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and 88th Street and punched her in the face while making antigay remarks, said police. The victim sustained bruising as well as redness and swelling to the lip. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, 140 pounds with brown eyes, black hair and a mustache. He is known to frequent areas within Jackson Heights, East Elmhurst and North Corona. Officers Jose Vasquezmiranda and Matthew Lewis of the 113th Precinct were recognized for a May 14 arrest that led to the recovery of a loaded .25-caliber handgun. The suspect was later charged with firstdegree rape. Officers Corey Harris and Eugene Hunter of the 102nd Precinct won awards for helping track down a stolen iPhone. Pursuit of the suspect eventually ran into East New York, Brooklyn. Sergeant Mary Humburg and police officer Charles Lovett of the 103rd Precinct were recognized for the April 10 arrest of four men trying to break into a house. The suspects had a total of 40 previous arrests between them. The suspect in the deadly shooting of a 14-yearold aboard a Queens bus last month has been apprehended in South Carolina, according to published reports. Kevin McClinton, 21, has been taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and as of press time was awaiting extradition to New York. McClinton is accused of shooting the teen, D’aja “Asia” Robinson, as she on her way from a sweet 16 birthday party around 9 p.m. on May 18. According to police, Robinson had just boarded a Q6 bus near Sutphin Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard when the gunman allegedly fired multiple times into the bus from the sidewalk.
