Novice boys Conn Reilly, Anthony Pedicini, Kevin Isca and Gavin McMahon were also gold medal recipients for their 600-meter medley, along with novice boys Thomas Fischer and Milo Cedeno Gold wasn’t the only medal the Flyers brought back from Astoria. Novice girl Grace Finnegan received the silver medal in the 100-meter run, and bantam girls Lin Finnegan, Paulina Lisowski, Rosin Wrynn and Nora Olmo also took home silver for their 800-meter medley. Other silver medalists were junior girls, Shauna Hurson, Ella McPartland, Jayde Sabin and Bryanna Hurson, and bantam boys Sean Walsh, Sean Reilly, Josiah Boulet and Andrew Kelly for their 800-meter medley. While junior boys Owen Kelly, Stephen Heerey, Victor Ostling and Kacper Niepokoj captured second place for their 1,200-meter medley run. Senior girl Nina Allen and run and bantam boy Conor O’Leary won bronze for their performances in the 200-meter and 100-meter run, respectively. The Flyers also want to acknowledge their final medal winners: peewees Sadie Donahue, Kaylee Ruiz, Ciara Reilly and Nora Wrynn. In gold letters the award read, “For Going Above and Beyond the Game of Hockey.” When asked where he had learned the Heimlich in the first place, Rocco replied, “I saw it in Mrs. Doubtfire.”
