Shooter in failed Sunnyside
robbery still at large
Police are looking for a suspect who
shot a Sunnyside pharmacy employee
during a failed robbery attempt on
Th ursday, April 18.
According to law enforcement sources,
at 1:55 p.m. on April 18, an unknown man
entered Sunnyside Pharmacy, located at
48-11 Skillman Ave., pulled out a fi rearm
and demanded money from the 27-yearold
male employee.
Th e suspect proceeded to shoot the
employee in the shoulder. Th e NYPD did
not provide a possible reason as to what
led the robber to open fi re.
Th e gunman then fl ed the scene empty
handed in an unknown direction,
police said.
Offi cers from the 108th Precinct and
EMS responded to the scene. Paramedics
took the victim to Elmhurst Hospital in
stable condition.
Police described the suspect as a
Hispanic man in his forties. He was last
seen wearing a baseball cap and black
sneakers.

Crook steals cash from Korean
BBQ restaurant in Flushing
Cops are looking for a crook who
broke into a Flushing restaurant and stole
money from the safe.
According to authorities, at 3 a.m. on
April 13, an unknown individual entered
SSAM Meat House, located at 171-03
Northern Blvd., aft er business hours.
Once inside, the suspect went into the
basement of the building and removed
$350 from a safe.
Th e suspect then fl ed the scene to parts
unknown.

Two men wanted for
northwest Queens
robbery spree
Cops are looking for a duo who are said
to be involved in a series of armed robberies
throughout Astoria, Long Island City
and Sunnyside.
According to police, the fi rst incident
took place at 1:15 a.m. on Feb. 6. At this
time, a 38-year-old man was in the vicinity
of 41st Street and 34th Avenue in
Astoria, when he was approached by two
unknown men. One of them displayed a
knife and demanded that the victim withdraw
money from a nearby ATM.
Th e victim complied and withdrew
$100. Aft er the victim handed over the
cash, police noted, the suspects fl ed the
scene in an unknown direction.
Nearly two weeks later, the bandits
struck again on Feb. 17. At 4 p.m. that day,
the suspects approached a 16-year-old
man in front of a residence on 31st Street,
displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s
property. Th e crooks then took the
victim’s cash and jewelry before fl eeing in
an unknown direction.
Th e pattern continued one month later
on March 18. At 5 p.m. that day, the perpetrators
approached two men, aged 18
and 24 years old, inside of a building
in the vicinity of 31st Street and 38th
Avenue. One of the suspects pulled out a
knife and demanded their property.
Th e thieves stole the victims’ cellphones
and cash before fl eeing the scene.
Almost one month later, the suspects
picked up their speed and continued the
robbery spree.
At 4 a.m. on April 11, the crooks
approached a 25-year-old man in front
of a residence on Newtown Road. Aft er
one the crooks pulled out a knife and
demanded property, they took the victim’s
jewelry, cellphone and wallet and fl ed the
scene in an unknown direction.
Hours later at 7 p.m., the thieves struck
again aft er approaching a 21-year-old
man that was walking in the vicinity of
Skillman Avenue and 54th Street. One
of the suspects displayed a knife and
demanded the victim’s property. Aft er
taking the victim’s cellphone and cash, the
duo fl ed the scene in an unknown direction.
At 10 p.m. on April 14, three victims, a
20-year-old man, 19-year-old woman and
18-year-old man, were approached by the
suspects while inside a building on 38th
Street. One of the suspects pulled out a
fi rearm and demanded their property. Th e
crooks took some of the victims’ clothing
before fl eeing the scene in an unknown
direction.
Finally, at 1:30 a.m. on April 19, a
25-year-old man was walking in the vicinity
of Newtown Road and 44th Street
when he was approached by one of the
suspects, who was riding an e-bike. Th e
suspect displayed a fi rearm and demanded
the victim’s property. Th e crook then
took the victim’s wallet before fl eeing in
an unknown direction.
On April 23, the NYPD released mugshots
of the duo, whom they identifi ed as
19-year-old Luis Martinez and 21-yearold
Khyrel Ware.
Martinez is described as a Hispanic
man standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall and
weighing 140 pounds; Ware is described
as a black man standing 5 feet, 11 inches
tall and weighing 200 pounds. Both suspects
have had prior arrests.

Subway creep grabs woman’s
thigh on Elmhurst train
Cops are looking for a man who forcibly
touched a woman’s thigh on a 7 train
in Elmhurst earlier this month.
According to authorities, the perpetrator
boarded the Flushing-bound 7 train at
the 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue station
at about 7:20 p.m. on April 9. Soon aft er,
he began rubbing a 29-year-old victim’s
thigh with his hand without her consent.
Police said the suspect exited the train
at its fi nal stop, Main Street-Flushing, and
fl ed in an unknown direction. Th e incident
was reported to the 115th Precinct
and the NYPD Transit Bureau.
On April 19 the police released an
image of the man. Cops described him
as a Asian man in his 40s with black hair,
who was wearing a pink collared shirt,
blue jeans, black jacket and carrying a
black briefcase and a plastic bag.
