The attack took place at 6:40 p.m. on March 2 in the area of Jamaica Avenue and 85th Street. Police said the suspects — each described as Hispanic males between 15 and 20 years of age with thin builds standing between 5 foot 7 inches and 6 feet tall — approached the victim and punched and kicked him about the body. During the assault, authorities said, the victim was repeatedly stabbed in the neck, stomach and buttocks. The group fled the scene shortly thereafter. Officers from the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. Paramedics brought the victim to Jamaica Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. One of the suspects sought was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a multi-colored jacket, gray pants and white sneakers, while a second individual wore a gray hooded sweatshirt, a dark-colored jacket, dark-colored pants and white sneakers. The third perpetrator was seen wearing a black hooded jacket, black pants and dark-colored sneakers, while a fourth suspect was seen wearing a purple baseball cap and a purple hooded sweatshirt. Police said a fifth individual was seen carrying a backpack while wearing a white hooded sweater, a darkcolored jacket, dark-colored pants and white sneakers. The sixth and final suspect wore a black hooded jacket, gray pants and black sneakers. All calls and messages are kept confidential. 104th Precinct Ridgewood, Glendale, Maspeth, Middle Village Suspect in Ridgewood deli shooting takes his own life The suspect wanted for shooting two employees at Mike’s Deli Grocery in Ridgewood early on the morning of March 13 was found dead a short time later in Brooklyn with a selfinflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said. According to police, the suspect, whose name has not been released, was spotted in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn driving a Nissan Maxima at around 3:30 a.m., an hour and a half after the original shooting. When the officers tried to stop the vehicle, they heard a gunshot and found the suspect slumped over the steering wheel. A 9-mm handgun was found inside the vehicle, law enforcement authorities confirmed. Police reported that he was rushed to Interfaith Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The first shooting occurred at about 1:53 a.m. at Mike’s Deli Grocery, located at 20-60 Gates Ave. According to the Daily News, the two men who were shot were employees. The suspect allegedly came in looking for another employee but was told he no longer worked there. He then proceeded to shoot the two employees currently working there. A 23-year-old male was shot in the face and sustained a graze wound, police said. The 20-year-old employee was shot in the right arm. Both men were taken to Elmhurst Hospital and are in stable condition. 113th Precinct Jamaica, Springfield Gardens Man shot in head in front of St. Albans apartments A man was shot in the head on Friday night in front of apartment buildings in St. Albans, police said. The 113th Precinct responded to a call at about 8:47 p.m. on March 11 of a man shot at the intersection of Linden Boulevard and 193rd Street. The victim, 33-year-old Joneil Major of Hollis, was found shot, unconscious and unresponsive. Major was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The trouble began at about 4:27 a.m. inside the Elite Lounge located at 127-21 Merrick Blvd. Authorities said the victim was caught in the middle of a large fight that broke out among patrons and spilled out into the street. Gunfire erupted moments later at the corner of Merrick Boulevard and Anderson Road, where the victim was shot in the right leg. The gunman responsible for the shooting — whom police described as a black male — was observed fleeing inside a silver vehicle. Officers from the 113th Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. Paramedics rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition with injuries not considered life-threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
