Human bones in backyard
An active police investigation led offi -
cers to unearth human remains at a
Richmond Hill home on the morning of
Tuesday, March 12.
According to police, an ongoing investigation
led offi cers to believe that human
remains were buried at a home on 115th
Street. At 11:30 a.m. on March 12, cops
went to the location and discovered
human skeletal remains of an unidentifi
ed person buried in the backyard of the
home.
At this time, police did not disclose
what the investigation was about. Reports
indicate that the remains could be linked
to a 40-year-old case, however police
could not confi rm that at this time.
Th e medical examiner will determine
the cause of death. Police say that the
investigation is ongoing and wish for the
remains to receive a proper burial.

Bashed with a brick
Cops are looking for the assailant who
attacked a man with a brick during a fi ght
inside a Woodside corner store.
According to police, at 11:45 p.m. on
Jan. 25, a 49-year-old man got into a verbal
dispute with an unknown man inside
of Woodside Grocery, located at 39-71
61st St. Th e fi ght turned physical when
the unknown man hit the victim on the
head with a brick, causing a laceration
and bleeding to the victim’s head.
At this time, authorities said, it is not
clear what the suspect and victim were
fi ghting about. Sources familiar with the
investigation indicated that the victim
may have been intoxicated at the time of
the assault, and that could have contributed
to the altercation.
Following the assault, authorities said,
the perpetrator then fl ed the location on
foot to parts unknown.

Offi cers from the 108th Precinct and
EMS responded to the scene. Paramedics
took the victim to Elmhurst Hospital,
where he received several stitches.
Cops described the brick-wielding suspect
as a black man in his late teens or
early 20s. He was last seen wearing a gray
hoodie with a red and blue jacket.
111th Precinct

Burglars get caught
Th e 111th Precinct announced that they
caught 42-year-old Th rogs Neck resident
Alfredo Arroyo just days aft er the arrest
of his accomplice Jennifer Rodriguez, 41.
According to police, Arroyo has been
charged with two counts of burglary for
two incidents on Feb. 1. According to
New York State Penal Law, burglary in
the third degree is a class D felony and
can carry a maximum jail sentence of up
to seven years.
On March 11, cops announced
Rodriguez’s arrest on Twitter. Police
charged the Bronx resident with two
counts of burglary and two counts of
criminal possession of stolen property.
Police have labeled the pair as “associates”
and have not established any other
relationship between them.
Back in February, police reported that
Arroyo broke into a multi-dwelling unit
near 200th Street and 32nd Avenue in
Bayside. In the fi rst incident, Arroyo
allegedly forced his way into an apartment
and took a designer Dior bag and
$800 in cash.
In the second incident, Arroyo allegedly
forced his way into another apartment,
where he reportedly fl ed with an Xbox
One, a blue Adidas backpack, a black duffl
e bag and a $1,680 ring.
Following the incidents, surveillance
footage showed Arroyo driving off in a
black BMW four-door sedan accompanied
by Rodriguez.

Man bites foe's pinky off
Police are looking for a man who bit
off a security guard’s fi nger during a
fi ght outside of a Jackson Heights bar.
According to authorities, at 4:05 a.m.
on Feb. 16, a 37-year-old male security
guard was closing the doors at El
California Sports Bar, located at 76-03
Roosevelt Ave., when an unknown man
walked up to him and asked to go inside.
When the security guard told the man
that the bar was closed, the man started
to have an argument with the guard.
Th e verbal dispute quickly escalated
and the suspect proceeded to bite off a
portion of the security guard’s left pinky
fi nger. Th e suspect then fl ed on foot
eastbound on Roosevelt Avenue.
EMS took the victim to Bellevue
Hospital, where his his fi nger was reattached
before he was released.
Th e suspect is described as a white
or Hispanic man with a medium build,
dark close-cut hair and a goatee. He was
last seen wearing blue jeans, black boots
and a black jacket with Japanese iconography
inscribed throughout.
