According to authorities, Pawel Garwarski, 26, allegedly struck the 35-year-old male in the face with an object during a physical altercation outside a deli at the corner of Fresh Pond Road and Madison Street at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday. The man’s head struck the pavement noted, causing a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain. Following the assault, Garwarski allegedly fled from the scene southbound Avenue. Officers from the 104th Precinct and EMS units responded to the location. Paramedics brought the 35-year-old man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition. Following an investigation, the 104th Precinct Detective Squad charged Garwarski Monday on multiple charges of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
