MAGDALENA POGORELZ of Middle
Village died on Tuesday, October 16,
at the age of 87. A native of Gottschee,
Yugoslavia, she was the wife of the
late Alois, devoted mother of Hildegarde
and mother-in-law of Andreas,
loving grandmother of Steven and
Kathryn, Christopher and Kayla, and
Anthony, and fond great-grandmother
of Samantha, Mia, Lukas and Ezra. A
Mass of Christian Burial was off ered
at St. Margaret Church, Middle Village,
followed by interment at St. John Cemetery,
Middle Village, under the direction
of Michaels Funeral Home, 79-22
Metropolitan Ave., Middle Village.

JOSE LUIS DIAZ died on Saturday,
October 13, at the age of 70. He was the
beloved father of Angelica Diaz, Jose
Luis and Marta Diaz Jr., Claudia Diaz
and Edwardo Diaz, cherished grandfather
of Barbara, Martha, Angelica,
Mijael, Maya, Malena, Marko and
Astrid and loving brother of Conchita,
Gloria, Isabel, Manuel and Sophia.
He is also survived by many loving
nieces, nephews and friends. A Mass
of Christian Burial was off ered on
Wednesday, October 17, at St. Sebastian’s
Church, Woodside, followed by
cremation at Fresh Pond Crematory,
Middle Village, under the direction of
Papavero Funeral Home, 72-27 Grand
Ave., Maspeth.

on Saturday, October 13, at the age of
86. A native of Brooklyn, she was
the wife of the late Ralph Fiore and
devoted mother of Phyllis Dochnal
and Lee Ann Ardolino. She is also
survived by four grandchildren and
four great-grandchildren. A Mass

St. Helen’s Church, Howard Beach,
followed by interment at St. Charles
Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY, under the
