CK Royals suff er grueling loss on
the road against Iona Prep

football Royals suff ered yet
another loss this weekend on the
road against Iona Prep, 42-14, dropping
their record to 1-5 on the campaign.
The undefeated Iona Prep scored all
of their points in the fi rst, with three
touchdowns in the fi rst quarter and
three more TDs in the second quarter.
The lone bright spot for the Royals
was junior Tirek Murphy, who rushed
for 162 yards on 19 carries while also
scoring a touchdown.
The Royals will be back in action on
Oct. 20 against Archbishop Stepinac.

Big kick leads Gottschee
Men’s team to a big win
BW Gottschee Men’s First Team took a break from league action to play Tallawah from the Eastern District Soccer League. The game was a tight aff air settled by
only one goal from Christian Paredes, who hit the ball from 25 yards out. The Men’s First Team is part of the Long Island Soccer Football League’s Division 2 and
is off to a perfect start, winning the fi rst fi ve campaigns. Next Sunday, Gottschee remain on cup duty as they face off against the FDNY’s College Point Flames.
