CROOK SOUGHT FOR

HILL HEIST ATTEMPTS
Cops are looking for a note-passing
thief that stole thousands of dollars
aft er trying to rob two banks in Woodside
and Richmond Hill on the same day.
According to police, at 11:06 a.m. on Oct.
16, an unknown man walked into a Chase
Bank, located at 59-26 Woodside Ave.
Aft er approaching the teller, the suspect
handed him a note demanding money.
However, one of the employees
pressed the alarm button and the
crook fl ed the scene empty-handed.
Two hours later, authorities said, the
suspect walked into the Capital One
Bank, located at 115-20 Jamaica Ave., at
1:06 p.m. and passed a note to a teller demanding
money. The teller complied and
handed over $17,000. The crook then fl ed
the scene westbound on Jamaica Avenue.
Cops described the suspect as a
white man between the ages of 40 and
50 years old and standing 6 feet tall.
He was last seen wearing a blue jacket,
blue jeans and white Nike sneakers.
