Get lost in a 3-acre corn maze
at Queens Farm Park (Little Neck
Parkway between 73rd Road and 74th
Avenue). Starting at 11 a.m., visitors can
fi nd clues and solve puzzles as they try
to fi nd their way out of the corn maze.
Adult tickets are $10, tickets for children
ages four to 11 are $4. Children
ages 3 and under get in free. The last
tickets will be sold at 4:30 p.m.

Always wanted to learn how to
knit? The Queens Library in Briarwood
is hosting Knitting With Lilli, a
beginner class for those interested in
knitting. All materials are provided,
but attendees are free to bring their

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10
Queens Botanical Garden is hosting
the NYC Compost Project from 9 a.m.
to noon. Attendees to this free event
can lend a hand at the urban farm or
learn how composting works. Tasks
may include weeding, harvesting,
planting activities, processing food
scraps, building a compost pile or
sift ing fi nished compost. Volunteers
must be at least 16 years old.

The Greater Ridgewood Historical Society is hosting the Annual Harvest
Festival at the Vander-Ende Onderdonk House on Sunday, Oct. 7. The festival
will feature a pumpkin patch with 500 pumpkins for the fi rst 500
children, a market, apple pressing for cider, a bouncy house, face painting,
craft s, games, music by DJ Frank, an appearance from Nolick the Wizard,
self-guided tours of the Onderdonk House and refreshments. The festival
will run from noon to 5 p.m. Adult admission is $5, admission for children
ages 12 and under is free. Members also get in for free.
