Police have released additional
surveillance footage of two persons of
interest in the investigation of a hate
crime where three teens were seen
on video breaking into Cypress Hills
Cemetery in Glendale and damaging
dozens of headstones back in August.
The new video — which was sent out
by law enforcement offi cials on Aug.
31 — shows two unidentifi ed persons
of interest walking along Park Lane
South near Forest Park in the 102nd
Precinct at 9:21 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25.
It was reported to police that the
pair seen in this new video may be
two of the three teens who, on Aug.
15, broke into Cypress Hills Cemetery,
which rests on the Queens/Brooklyn
border, and vandalized more than 40
headstones by knocking them over
and spray painting derogatory terms
on them.
Some of the off ensive terms targeted
African-Americans, Chinese and Arabic
people, and the NYPD.
The teens also entered the memorial
Abbey mausoleum and broke
the marble stones on the front of
approximately 15 vaults, and spray
painted more derogatory words, cops
announced.
Police originally released black-andwhite
surveillance footage of the three
suspects, and off ered an award of up to
$2,500 for information that leads to the
arrest and indictment of the vandals.
The individuals in question have
been described as males, approximately
16 to 19 years old, possibly white or
Hispanic with light complexions.

BICYCLE THIEF TOOK
TEEN’S RIDE IN MIDDLE
VILLAGE
Police are attempting to track down
a thief who threw a teen off of his bike
near Juniper Valley Park in Middle
Village and pedaled away with the
stolen property last weekend.
According to authorities, the robbery
occurred between approximately
4:30 and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 at
the corner of 74th Street and Juniper
Boulevard South.
The robber — who has been described
as a white or Hispanic male,
standing 6 feet tall and weighing 135
pounds — grabbed the 14-year-old
male victim and threw him off of the
black Public Enemy Big Ripper bicycle,
ripping his shirt, cops reported.
The perpetrator then took off in
an unknown direction on the bike,
police said.
Law enforcement agents also noted
that the bicycle is worth approximately
$800, and has a serial number of
G7148CMB02.
