Counsel representing Jacqueline Arrington, Joseph Ficalora, William Jefferson, Grace Lawrence, Terri Mangino and George Stamatiades filed a lawsuit last Friday, Aug. 1, in U.S. District Court in Brooklyn against Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and the State of New York. Katz removed the six members last month under authority granted in state legislation passed in June aimed at reforming Queens Library, which by Noah Zuss Several hundred hypodermic needles were found illegally dumped near the Richmond Hill section of Forest Park Thursday, July 31, the president of NYC Park Advocates confirmed to the Times Newsweekly this week. Over 800 needles were found near Park Lane South and 112th Street, according to Geoffrey Croft. Parks Department workers alerted Croft after finding the needles, he said. The workers notified police at the 102nd Precinct, but no complaint report was made, according to authorities. Law enforcement officials said -SEE NEEDLES ON PG. 28- PAIR WANTED FOR B’WICK SHOOTING Police continue to seek two suspects involved in the recent shooting of a 27-year-old man at a Bushwick location. According to law enforcement sources, the victim was shot multiple times in the leg in front of a building on Schaefer Street between Knickerbocker and Wilson avenues at about 10:50 p.m. on July 18. Officers from the 83rd Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident; the victim was treated at a local hospital and listed in stable condition. Authorities describe the suspects as Hispanic males; one (pictured at right) was observed wearing white sneakers and a t-shirt. The other perpetrator (not pictured) was reportedly observed wearing a white t-shirt and tan shorts.
