Glendale Man Enlists Michael A. Bilski of Glendale recently enlisted in the New York State Guard for the next three years. Upon completing his training at Camp Smith, Michael was promoted to the rank of Private. Michael is assigned to the 88th Brigade, 14th Battalion in Whitestone. Katz Sings For Summer Concert Queens Borough President Melinda Katz is pictured singing “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess during the 16th Annual Great Lawn Summer Concert held Wednesday night, July 30, on the Fresh Meadows campus of St. John’s University. The concert featured Willie Martinez and the La Familia Sextet, with members of the Queens Symphony Orchestra (QSO) conducted by Constantine Kitsopolous, its music director. In addition to singing Katz was the guest conductor for “Stars and Stripes Forever.” More than 1,000 people attended the free concert. While he visited DiMarzio rededicated the Catholic Chapel at Camp Keowa during a special Mass. DiMarzio also toured Ten Mile River. As a Life Scout in his youth he was able to practice his scout skills with the camp staff.
