SUSPECT SOUGHT FOR J
TRAIN ASSAULT
Police are asking for the public’s
help in identifying a man responsible
for a brutal attack and robbery attempt
in Richmond Hill in early July.
According to authorities, the
assault took place on July 6 at approximately
11:30 p.m. on the J train
platform at the 104th Street station.
The male suspect approached
his 34-year old male victim from
behind, police said, and hit him
several times in the back of the head
with a closed fist.
Law enforcement sources said the
perpetrator then demanded the victim’s
property aft er knocking him to
the ground, but the victim cried out for
help and the crook fl ed the scene to the
street area, police said.
No property was stolen and the
victim refused medical attention, according
to sources familiar with the
investigation.
Police described the suspect as a
black or Hispanic male, approximately
20 to 30 years old, standing at 5 feet, 11
inches tall with dark skin, black hair, a
long ponytail and a goatee. He was last
seen wearing a black T-shirt with large
lettering across the chest, black pants
and black footwear.

OZONE PARK
WOULD-BE RAPIST
SOUGHT FOR ATTACKING
WOMAN
Police released on July 24 video
footage of the man whom they say
recently tried to rape a woman on an
Ozone Park street.
The attack occurred at 2:30 a.m. on
June 29 in the vicinity of Glenmore
Avenue and 79th Street, a residential
area of the neighborhood.
According to law enforcement
sources, the 30-year-old victim was
walking through the area when
the suspect began following her.
Seconds later, authorities said, the
perpetrator grabbed the woman by
the neck and tried to push her to the
ground.
The woman managed to fi ght the
suspect off and cried out for help while
running away from the man, who also
fl ed the scene, police said.
Officers from the 106th Precinct
responded to the scene; the victim was
not injured in the attack, and refused
further medical assistance.
Police described the suspect as a
black man between 20 and 30 years of
age, standing 6 feet tall and weighing
about 170 pounds. He was last seen
wearing a T-shirt and dark pants.
