Stop by to Local Roots CSA to pick up produce and small-batch provisions between 6 and 8 p.m. Music starts at 8:30 p.m. and beer specials from Ridgewood’s own Finback Brewery last all night long. The event is free. Onderdonk & Sons is located 566 Onderdonk Ave. FRIDAY, JULY 8 Yoga: Ridgewood Friday Night Community Flow Get energized for the weekend by joining in a community flow at Ridgewood Yoga Studio. All levels of student are welcome, so whether you know your asanas or have never tried them, you will become a warrior! The class is donation-based and takes place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 16-23 Hancock St. SATURDAY, JULY 9 Yoga: Backyard Yoga @ Houdini ($10) Houdini Kitchen Laboratory is known for their crispy and delicious singleserving pizza pies, and now, you can have your pizza and work it off at the same time! In their backyard, the restaurant is hosting yoga every Saturday through summertime. Class starts at 11:30 a.m., is 60 minutes long, and requires that you bring your own mat. Houdini is located at 1563 Decatur St., and the class costs $10. Music: Summer Scum at Trans-Pecos Trans-Pecos is a venue on Wyckoff Ave that is always trying something new programming-wise. This Saturday and Sunday they host Summer Scum, in which 60+ acts performing 15-minute sets. This weekend’s artists include Pharmakon, Puce Mary, Mercury Hall, Secret Boyfriend and more. Sounds like a nightmare for the sound guy, but really fun for the crowd! Tickets are $25 per day or $40 for the two-day pass, and the show runs from 2 to 11 p.m. each day. Trans-Pecos is located at 9-15 Wyckoff Ave. SUNDAY, JULY 10 Art: “Heavenly Places” at Lorimoto Gallery Spin by Lorimoto on Saturday or Sunday to experience their latest show, “Heavenly Places,” which showcases works of four artists that capture the feeling of elevated comfort and sanctity. Lorimoto is located at 1623 Hancock St. and is open Saturday through Sunday 1 to 6 p.m. The show is free. Music: Bring Your Own Vinyl @ Queens Tavern If you want to show off your record collection, fill a bag and park it at Queens Tavern on Sunday night. Every weekend, the bar lets locals spin the records, “BYOV” style. The event starts at 8 p.m., and Queens Tavern is located at 6869 Fresh Pond Rd. MONDAY, JULY 11 Cinema: Maysles Cinema Mondays presents Stretch and Bobbito @ Nowadays (FREE) Maysles Cinema in Manhattan is curating a pop-up non-fiction film series at outdoor beer garden Nowadays. This week features a documentary called “Stretch and Bobbito,” a film about quirky friends who became unlikely hip-hop legends by engaging their listeners and breaking the biggest rap artists ever! The admission is free and the screening starts at sundown. Food: Meatloaf Mondays @ The Bad Old Days Every night of the week is a good time to grab a drink and snack after work at neighborhood bar The Bad Old Days, but this (and every upcoming) Monday might turn into the default pick because of their Meatloaf Monday special, which includes an order of meatloaf sliders and any draft beer for just $11. The Bad Old Days is located at 1684 Woodbine Ave. TUESDAY, JULY 12 Music: Karaoke Tuesdays at Ridgewood Ale House On Tuesdays, let your inner popstar shine at Ridgewood Ale House. Don’t worry if you’re shy; a few ales will provide ample liquid confidence! And don’t hesitate to order a wood-fired pizza, too! WEDNESDAY, JULY 1 Music: Gypsy Jazz @ The Keep (FREE) Every Wednesday, the Avalon Jazz Band leads local musicians to spit some jazz tunes among the artful collection of junk and treasures that The Keep bar has on display.
