They had an extra role to play, however, this past Saturday, Dec. 17, as the precinct delivered some holiday cheer as well to local residents during its annual holiday party at the Ridgewood stationhouse. Hundreds turned out for the free event which included Christmas carols, refreshments and a visit by Santa Claus. Members of the community also got a chance to exchange well wishes with the officers who protect the neighborhood.
