Outfielder Curtis Granderson and infielder Jose Reyes delivered 200 turkeys to students and families at M.S. 72 during a visit to the school on Nov. 15. Part of the team’s “MetsGiving” program, Granderson and Reyes helped provide turkeys to families at M.S. 72, P.S. 223 and August Martin High School. Students also received vouchers for tickets to Mets home games at Citi Field in 2017. It was just the latest charitable endeavor for Granderson, the Mets slugger who won the 2016 Roberto Clemente Award in recognition of his philanthropic endeavors off the field. “The holiday season is a great time of the year to give back to those that need assistance,” Granderson said. “I feel fortunate to be in a position where I have the opportunity to help make a difference in communities.” The visit was made possible by the Mets organization in conjunction with The Child Center of New York, Food Bank of New York and Uber. “We recognize that this opportunity comes due to our working so intimately with M.S. 72 as the lead community-based partner in delivering a model Beacon community school,” said Deepmalya Ghosh, senior vice president of external affairs and community engagement for The Child Center of New York. “Events like these allow us to showcase The Child Center’s efforts to provide students with high-quality academic instruction and extended learning opportunities.” Speaking on behalf of the school, M.S. 72 Principal Omotayo Cole Cineus offered “heartfelt gratitude to the Mets for providing this opportunity” to south Jamaica families. > Absolutely Free Student Checking •No minimum balance •No per check fee •No monthly maintenance fee > Free unlimited ATM transactions at NYCB locations > Free VISA®CheckCard > Free Direct Deposit > Free On-line Banking with Free Bill Pay† > 24 Hour Bank by Phone > Convenience •Over 140 locations in NY and NJ •Extended branch banking hours •Supermarket banking •7 day-a-week banking at many locations > Pre-Paid Solutions •VISA® Gift Card •Pre-Paid Long Distance •Pre-Paid MasterCardTM •Pre-Paid Wireless Service •MetroCards Smart Student BANKING1 Open your Student Checking2 Account and/or Savings Account and enjoy: ▪ No Minimum Balance Fee ▪ No Per-Check Fee ▪ No Monthly Service Fee ▪ Unlimited Transactions at NYCB ATMs ▪ Free Visa® debit card ▪ Free Direct Deposit ▪ Free e-Statements ▪ Free NYCB Online Banking with Bill Pay3 For more information call 718-448-7272 or visit www.myNYCB.com †For your online security, information will be verified by the Bank.
