MCCARTHY FOUNDATION The Michael W. McCarthy Foundation recently hosted a special golf outing in Manhasset benefiting Life’s WORC and the Family Center for Autism. The golf outing was held in memory of Krystie Karl Stieger, a 9-year-old girl who recently died of Tay-Sachs disease. Golfers enjoyed a fine meal and a day on the links raising funds for two charities helping individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Among those honored at the golf outing were Edward J. Nitkewicz, special education attorney; Tina Moreno, Life’s WORC director of community relations; and the Schott family, founding members of The Family Center for Autism.
