Fishscale, the upcoming fish market, beer garden and brewery, will open for business at 38-17 Bell Blvd. during the last week of September or first week of October. Astoria native Sonny Ocean co-owns the spot with Angie Andreone. Ocean owned pizzerias in Flushing before testing out the waters in Bayside. “The vision is going to be hopefully busy, busy, busy out here with everybody,” he said in an interview with The Courier. “I’ve been coming here for years, I’m a Queens native, I love this area … I owned restaurants in Flushing and now Bayside is booming.” The fish market will offer organic and fresh fish, lobsters, clams, oysters, shrimp and other seafood provided by the suppliers of Whole Foods supermarket. A dine-in option is also available for customers who prefer to have their food cooked there for an additional fee. Fishscale, a fish market, beer garden and brewery, is coming to Bayside soon! Fishscale’s spacious outdoor garden will feature a park setting equipped with benches and a full bar that serves beer and wine. Ocean added that Sunday brunches or midday lunch specials may also be in the works. “We want to bring business to the local beer gardens, not the breweries and stuff like that.
