Group of seven assaults
and robs man in Jackson

Th e NYPD is looking for seven men
who beat up and robbed a man in Jackson
Heights earlier this month.
On Saturday, July 25, around 2:20
a.m., a 40-year-old man was walking on
the northwest corner of 90th Street and
37th Avenue when a group of six men
approached him and began to punch
and kick him until he fell, according to
the NYPD.
While the man was lying on the ground,
the group stole his cellphone and approximately
$100, cops said.
Th e man was taken to NYC Health +
Hospitals/Elmhurst by EMS personnel in
critical condition.
All of the suspects are described as
being between 16 and 20 years old,
according to the authorities. No arrests
have been made and the investigation is
ongoing.

Queens police offi cer
arrested for tampering
with evidence: NYPD
An NYPD offi cer from the 109th
Precinct was arrested for tampering with
evidence earlier this week.
On Th ursday, July 30, Kevin Martin was
arrested by his fellow cops for an incident
that occurred on March 1, 2020, within
the confi nes of the 109th Precinct,
according to the NYPD. Martin has been
charged with tampering with evidence
and offi cial misconduct, cops said.
Th e police department declined to comment
further on the incident that led to
Martin’s arrest.
Martin, 43, currently serves in the 109th
Precinct and formerly served in the 46th
Precinct in the Bronx.
Of the 45 allegations of police misconduct
made against him dating back to
August 2007, 18 were substantiated by the
Civilian Complaint Review Board.
Most recently, Martin was found to have
used excessive force and abuse of authority
when he and a fellow offi cer stopped
an 18-year-old Black man within the confi
nes of the 46th Precinct in May 2016,
according to the CCRB.

Duo stabs man several
times after verbal dispute
in Long Island City: NYPD
Th e NYPD is looking for two men
who allegedly stabbed a man multiple
times in Long Island City at the beginning
of the month.
On Wednesday, July 1, around 11:41
a.m., a 33-year-old man was in front of
40-08 12th St., when he got into a verbal
dispute with two unidentifi ed men,
according to the NYPD.
Th e dispute turned violent when the
two men allegedly stabbed the 33-yearold
multiple times in the stomach, shoulder,
ribs and right hand, the police said.
Th e victim was taken to NewYork-
Presbyterian Cornell Hospital in stable
condition.
One of the suspects is described as
being around 6 feet, 10 inches tall,
weighing around 190 pounds, cops say.
He was last seen wearing a multicolored,
long-sleeved shirt, light-colored pants,
light-colored sneakers and a black-andwhite
baseball hat.
Th e second suspect is described as
being around 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing
around 180 pounds, according to the
NYPD. He was last seen wearing a white
tank top, dark-colored shorts, dark-colored
baseball hat, black white sneakers
and glasses.
No arrests have been made and the
investigation is ongoing.
