She enlisted in the Army Reserve as a Petroleum Supply Specialist (92F) in January 2004. Since joining the Army, she has worked as a paralegal legal in a real estate law fi rm, utilized her tuition assistance and completed her A.A. in Paralegal/Legal Studies along with her B.A. in Criminal Justice. In 2008, SFC Jones went Active Duty and decided to become a full time Recruiter. She was comfortable and proud to tell her Army Story understanding and utilizing the various benefi ts the Army has to offer a soldier and their family. She feels that recruiting young men and women to build the future of the Army is rewarding and challenging. What matters most to her is the gratitude and appreciation from those who return and thank her for helping to change their lives. SFC Jones has been there to listen to that young mother cry about wanting to provide a better life for her children and to the young man that has aspirations of being a better man. Having conversations with youth so they understand what the Army offers as a career path SFC Jones maintains is her way of giving back to the community; it helps to clear up misperceptions and create an understanding. She maintains that everyone should be offered the opportunity to know what choices they have in life. She feels that it is important to be in the Recognized for Power Event because many women are overlooked in a male-dominated fi eld. There are a vast amount of women operating as leaders in the same capacity as men.
