She’s there all the time. She’s in my office.” The wife and mother of two and grandmother of three currently serves as co-president of the Bay Terrace Garden Jewish Center. Bitterman also served on the borough president’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park coordinating committee that addressed health care issues in Queens and the Queens Traffic Safety Board. She remains on the advisory boards of Flushing Hospital and the New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Flushing as well. “These people are family, it’s family. It’s a lot of history but I’ll be around,” the outgoing district manager told QNS about her retirement plans. “I promise to stay on the Parks committee and the Land Use committee so I’ll be around. I’ll come to board meetings.” She is currently involved with the College Point Corporate Park development, the Cooper Cary Study for the redevelopment of downtown Flushing and waterfront and the Willets Point neighborhood.
