Earlier in the day, the local bishops of the Russian and Greek Orthodox Churches celebrated a divine liturgy at the house of worship. Among those who participated were Bishop Metropolitan Pavlos, Metropolitan Agafansel and Metropolitan Demetrius of the Greek Orthodox Church along with Archbishop Andronik and Archbishop Wsewolod Dutikov of the Russian Orthodox Church. Special honors at Brandeis scholarship brunch The Brandeis Association, a bar association for Jewish legal professionals, held its annual scholarship fund brunch on June 7 at Young Israel of Jamaica Estates. During the affair, association members presented special honors to attorneys Michael Dikman and Barry Seidel. Assemblyman David Weprin presented Dikman and Seidel with proclamations at the gathering. The event recognized 11 businesspeople for their leadership and philanthropic investments.
