It’s Leaf, a bar lounge on the hotel’s rooftop. The spectacular views from the open air balcony, and an inside intimate lounge area serving “craft” cocktails and small bites, are a rejuvenating experience. The unique space serves botanically inspired cocktails. Their signature cocktails bear names that invite details. I tried “Bai Jiu, I think she’s got it,” Kafir lime washed HKB Bai Jiu and pama pomegranate liquor with arugula water, lemongrass syrup and fresh lemon. It was indeed a unique taste exciting my palate. Then there is the “Chrysanthemum Old Fashioned,” Chrysanthemum water infused with Bird Dog bourbon, muddled ginger, agave nectar and angostura bitters! What a remarkable concoction! Chef Henry Lin has also created a tasting menu to accompany the drinks, and the lively music makes the room rock. I tried a few of the “small bites,” including mouth-watering molten cheeseburger spring rolls and salt and pepper popcorn chicken with fried basil. It’s a unique blend of flavors that will leave you wanting second helpings! Leaf’s well-spaced tables in a dimly lit environment makes for a relaxing after-work experience or ideal for weekend brunch, which will soon be served at the lounge. The brunch will offer choices from their Taiwanese Xiao Chi menu such as beef scallion pancakes and minced pork rice with marinated soft boiled eggs. Leaf also offers more familiar appetizers. I enjoyed the chicken wings served with General Tso’s or buffalo sauce. I also enjoyed the favorite edamame served with Japanese seven spices. Leaf is a unique experience that took me away from the hustle and bustle of life “below.” View Over 200 Reviews at queenscourier.com  Leaf Bar/Lounge Hyatt Place Hotel 133-42 39th Ave., 10th Floor, Flushing 718-865-8158 Open 7 days a week Garvies Point MUSEUM & PRESERVE Explore the world of dinosaurs!
