Join the Kingsland Homestead as it hosts a tag sale; a collection of used items being sold, similar to a yard sale or garage sale, as a fundraiser for the Queens Historical Society (QHS). The sale starts at 2:30 p.m. and goes until 4:30 p.m.; you may just fi nd the treasure you were looking for at this sale! QHS is located at 143-35 37th Avenue in Flushing. Celebrating its 15th year, St. Pat’s for All is New York’s most diverse St. Patrick’s Day parade, embracing LGBT contingents, Irish organizations, labor unions, social justice organizations, religious and civic groups, and a variety of festive performers -- all in celebration of Ireland and the Irish-American experience. While there are many St. Patrick’s parades held throughout March in the fi ve boroughs, St. Pat’s for All is the only fully-inclusive parade, welcoming all groups who wish to share in the spirit of the day. The 2014 St. Pat’s for All Parade begins in Sunnyside at the corner of 47th Street and Skillman Avenue and ends in Woodside at Woodside Avenue and 58th Street. Participants are advised to show up at about 1 p.m.; the parade starts at 2 p.m. THRU MARCH 2 IndieCade International Festival of Independent Games and the Museum of the Moving Image present a playable exhibition of more than two dozen games that represent the breadth and depth of the “indie” video game scene. The designers and developers of these games -- individuals or small teams independent of large studios and publishers -- take daring, creative risks to explore new forms and methods of play. Come to the recently reopened Queens Museum on Friday, March 7 from 7-10 p.m. (doors open 6 p.m.) to participate in the world’s only geographical trivia-based game night at the world’s largest panorama – The Panorama of the City of New York! The Panorama Challenge involves questions about assorted city landmarks, bridges, neighborhoods, parks and more. Participants will compete in teams of 10 (or so) and will play either as a Panorama Challenger or Panorama Pro team. Writer, artist and performer Warren Lehrer presents a funny and thoughtprovoking multimedia performance/ reading based on his acclaimed new novel, A Life In Books: The Rise and Fall of Bleu Mobley. An illuminated novel, A Life In Books contains 101 books within it, all written by Lehrer’s protagonist, a controversial author who fi nds himself in prison looking back on his life and career. In the performance, Lehrer presents an overview of Bleu Mobley’s life in books via many of Mobley’s cover designs and other biographical materials including animations and video performances of book excerpts by the band BETTY, actress/poet La Bruja, beatbox artist Chesney Snow, and a live appearance by actress/author Judith Sloan.
