The enrollment center is located at the Bayside Library at 214-20 Northern Blvd., and will run through Feb. 5. All applicants must register in advance by visiting the IDNYC website or by calling 311. This is the fi rst enrollment center installed in northeast Queens. Residents of the area were previously directed to use a permanent application center in the Flushing library. Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, Councilman Paul Vallone and Korean-American community groups attended the opening day of the pop-up center on Monday, along with a representatives of the Mayor’s Offi ce of Immigrant Affairs and Community Board 11. Rozic said the pop-up center was created as a response to a strong need for more services in the large immigrant population in her district, The pop-up center was created to cater to the sizable community of Korean immigrants in northeast Queens. especially within the Korean community. “Starting today, northeast Queens residents will not have to travel far and wide to apply for an IDNYC card,” Rozic said. Vallone urged residents to sign up for the card, saying that the program is already so successful that the fi rst week had many appointments booked. He also emphasized an IDNYC feature that will allow veterans to be identifi ed by their card. “This new pop-up location for the IDNYC program will go a long way to serve the residents of northeast Queens,” Vallone said.
