HADASSAH MIGDAL CHAPTER OF NST INVITES YOU TO WALK FOR STEM CELL RESEARCH
Save The Date! Sunday, May 2
Join the Nassau Region 15th Annual
Walkathon for Stem Cell Research
BY DEE-DEE GOIDEL
Let us walk to save lives one
step at a time. Stem Cell and
Immunotherapy research
hold the promise to treat and cure
devastating, debilitating diseases.
Hadassah doctors and researchers
are leaders in Stem Cell and Immunotherapy
and their discoveries
are shared with the Global Medical
Community, including the more
than 100 million Americans who
are affected by so many dreadful
diseases.
Did you know that:
• Regeneron, the treatment
for Covid-19, is derived from stem
cells.
• For multiple sclerosis,
Hadassah doctors harvest stem
cells from a patient’s own bone
marrow. Trials have led to dramatic
results.
• Orthopedic stem cells are
used to repair severe bone fractures.
Stem cells and platelets
from a patient’s own blood and
bone marrow are injected into the
injured site.
• Heart Disease: Heart cells
can regenerate following a heart
attack by implanting stem cells.
• Alzheimer’s: Researchers
discovered that neural stem cells in
the brain can help repair harmful
inflammation and generate new
neurons to improve memory.
• Parkinson’s: Researchers
are focusing on regeneration therapy
using stem cells to produce new
dopamine.
• Diabetes, Strokes, Spinal
Cord, Traumatic Brain Injuries,
Macular Degeneration, Cancer
are also on the list of major
breakthroughs.
Remember, your support as
a walker, sponsor or donor can
help heal the world. Together, we
can make a difference for current
generations and countless unborn
generations to come.
Thank you for your generosity!
